ISBN: 90-14-05206-5. This book considers whether Dutch law contains effective provisions for worker participation in enterprises belonging to a corporate group. The novelty was that it bridged the gap between employees consultation rights in labour law and those in company law with a focus on its applicability in multinational companies.


European Works CouncilsLamers, Josee: “The added value of European Works Councils”, AWVN, Haarlem, 1998. ISBN 90-803162-4-5. The research is sponsored by the European Commission. It has also been edited in the Dutch language. The book reports about interviews with central management and employees’ representatives of European Works Councils (Art. 13) in 18 Dutch Groups. Here Lamers introduced the concept of Added Value of European Works Councils. The concept soon passed the Dutch borders and became well known in the European Community of the European Commission, social partners and companies.


Lamers, Josee: “The Euro Works Councils, an emerging practice”, HSI, University of Amsterdam, 1996. A case study for the ILO Task Force on Industrial Relations, in the framework of the ILO World Labour Report 1997-1998. The novelty in this study is the analysis of the quantitative impact of the European Works Councils Directive, subdivided into country, sector and workforce.
